A Message from SITAR President – Zimmermann
Greetings SITAR Members!
Time flies by: In the meantime it has already been over six months since we met in Berlin for the SITAR conference. I really like to think back to these two days in the last summer: the rich scientific program, the new ideas and fresh methods, the many stimulating conversations and encounters, the delicious food. It was a great pleasure for me to welcome so many new and old members from so many different countries in the world at my university. I was particularly impressed by the quality of the talks and posters of the students. It was great to see that a new generation of researchers is growing up, pushing interpersonal research with great passion and at a high methodological level.
I think the annual meetings are really the heart of our society. And so it is great to know that the next conference is not long in coming: on 28th and 29th of July is the opportunity to meet again in Pittsburgh! Preparations are already taking place thanks to Aidan Wright, who will host the conference this year. We are delighted to have two stellar keynote speakers this year: Karen Matthews, PhD (University of Pittsburgh) and Jill Cyranowski, PhD (Chatham University). Additional information about our upcoming conference can be found at https://sitar2017.wordpress.com/. I would like to invite and encourage you to submit scientific contributions! A submission is still possible by the end of February.
Lastly, I would like to point out an important change in the Executive Council: The members of SITAR have elected Mark Lukowitsky as Vice-President of the society. Mark has been a member of SITAR for many years, has served as the editor of the SITAR Newsletter for a long time and is an excellent interpersonal researcher and highly regarded colleague. I would like to sincerely congratulate you, Mark, on this new role!
